Matti Haapoja, a filmmaker and a YouTuber with 1.2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, has said that Final Cut Pro will come pre-installed on Apple Vision Pro and users will be able to edit videos using their eye movements and hand gestures. Haapoja posted a series of tweets explaining how Apple Vision Pro will usher in a revolution in filmmaking.
Final Cut Pro on Vision Pro?
Interestingly, Haapoja was one of the attendants at WWDC 2023 where the Vision Pro headset was announced and he even tried the headset. Here’s what Haapoja wrote in the tweets: “I just tried Apple Vision Pro and it’s gonna completely change filmmaking, storytelling and content creation. I’ve never experienced that sort of presence, feeling like I’m there in the scene. They showed me places around the world that I had been to and it felt like I was reliving memories. One of them was being under water with a scuba diver who’s feeding sharks and I’ve done that and it felt soooo real being there again. And editing in Final Cut Pro in AR will be available for launch editing with eyes and gestures. We freaking finally get to edit minority report styles. I would pay sooooo much more money than $3499 to be able to relive important moments and experiences later in life. Absolutely mind blown.” While Apple says that Vision Pro is a standalone device, it is not clear yet whether Final Cut Pro will use the headset as an external display or whether will there be a dedicated app for VisionOS that will run natively on Vision Pro. We already know that Apple Vision Pro can capture photos and videos as the company demoed it on the stage. However, video editing is a resource-heavy task involving several elements. Although, the device is powered by an M2 chip which is capable enough to handle the workload of Final Cut Pro, but video editing on Vision Pro headset seems quite unfeasible and unlikely at the moment. Apple Vision Pro has been priced at $3,499, which is quite a pricey affair and Apple says it will launch sometime in early 2024 in the U.S. You may also explore…
